5997 W River Dr Update – The Big Burn

As I have chronicled before, this nearly 3-acre property was severely overgrown and had numerous dead trees in close proximity to the house and garage.  This represents a fire hazard as well as a pest breeding ground.  We felled 6 trees, limbed up the dead branches from many pines, and reduced the fuel load with fallen timber.  However, we had to wait until September before we could obtain a burn permit.  Happy to say the first wood pile has been chipped, burned, or broken up for mulch safely and with no collateral damage.
