The first snowfall of the 2018-2019 winter season fell last night and this morning.  DG Construction and Project Management, our contractor on this project, completed the rebuild of a portion of the north wall and the framing and siding structure to protect the chimney.  While we are hoping for a few more warm days this month to complete the painting and hang gutters, the house is now weather-tight.  What about your home – are you ready for winter?  A few items to think about: close crawl space vents, disconnecting hoses, put on insulated hose-bibb covers, put patio furniture in storage, place driveway markers for snow removal equipment, deicer purchased and ready for slick sidewalks, snow thrower maintenance completed and ready, emergency kit in vehicle, and of course, the winter clothes unpacked and ready to wear.
