It All Starts with Good Support Systems

Houses, like people, need different kinds of support.  Foundations, joists, studs, are all different kinds of support systems.  The past few weeks have seen numerous support systems constructed at 5997 W River to replace/repair/upgrade existing support systems.   The most dramatic was the large joist and jack studs used to open up the wall between the kitchen and the great room.  An opening that large needs a large header beam and appropriate supports at each end.  Other supports included: new posts in the basement to support joists that were sagging, some new floor joists, a new wall to support floor joists for the second story and to create a new, larger, closet in the larger main floor bedroom.
